Law Bridge — Linking Workspace to Law

2 min readUpdated May 27, 2026Auch auf Deutsch verfuegbar

The Law Bridge connects your Workspace artifacts to Optimaite Law. Link a document to an Akte (case) or Mandant (client) to unlock case-context AI, browse Akte documents, and navigate between apps.

Link an Artifact

Open the Law Links panel

From any open document, click the Law icon in the editor toolbar, or open the "Links" panel from the right sidebar.

Search for an Akte or Mandant

Use the search dialog to find the right case or client. The dialog has two tabs: Akten and Mandanten.

Confirm the link

Select the Akte or Mandant. The link is saved and the document now shows case context.

What You See After Linking

Once an artifact is linked to an Akte, the Law Links panel displays:

  • Aktenzeichen (file number) and title
  • Status and matter type
  • Beteiligte (parties) with roles
  • Naechste Frist (next deadline)
  • Deep link back to the Akte in Law

Case Context for AI

When a document is linked to an Akte, the AI assistant receives case metadata automatically:

  • The AI can reference case data, parties, and deadlines in its responses
  • Ask "Summarize this in context of the Smith v. Jones case" and the AI pulls from both the document and the Akte

Browse Akte Documents

The Law Links panel lets you browse documents filed in the linked Akte:

  • Preview Law documents inline (in an iframe viewer)
  • Attach Law documents as references in your AI session
  • Compare a Law document with your current Workspace document

Law Bridge requires an active Optimaite Law entitlement. If you don't see the Law icon, your workspace doesn't have Law access enabled.

From Law to Workspace

The integration works both ways — in Law, users can:

  • Open documents in Workspace for editing (from the Akten medien tab)
  • Attach Workspace artifacts to an Akte via the Workspace Attach Picker
  • Route documents through Workspace signing workflows
